Managing Stress

In this day and age, it is rare to find someone who feels completely stress-free. Work keeps piling up, bills keep coming and there just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day. While these things are the reality of modern life, there are ways you can combat the awful feeling of stress.

    1. Get Enough Sleep

Sleep is really important for mental stability and when you do not sleep well it can make everything feel worse. To help get a better nights sleep, make sure your bedroom is tidy and dark at night. Make sure the temperature isn’t too warm and create a routine around bedtime.

    2. Exercise

Although exercise can be the last thing you want to do when you are stress, it can be so beneficial. Aim to get 30 minutes of moderate exercise a day – even better if it is outdoors!

    3. Eat Healthily

Nutrition can have a huge impact on how you are feeling overall. Eating a healthy, well-balanced diet will give you more energy and make you feel better about yourself. Fruit and vegetables help maintain your immune system and beans and grains can give you longlasting energy.

    4. Breathe

Sometimes it helps to just take a few moments to yourself. Use this time to take three deep inhales and three long exhales. Slow down your system and give it a moment to relax.
